Program Objective
The Latina Docs Journey is a 6 week course that is part coaching and part didactics. The purpose of the course is to support Latina Physicians in both personal and professional development by giving them tangible tools to solve everyday problems.

Week 1: Goal Cultivation
- Comprehensive process for creating clear and purposeful goals.
- We use a proven method to support you in creating a comprehensive vision in the 6 major domains of your life (finance, spirituality, health & fitness, career, relationships).
- Dedicated to developing longitudinal personal and professional goals
Week 2: How to Self Coach
- Change your thoughts about yourself and the world on purpose, to create the feelings and actions you want in your life.
- This is a skill you will take with you to continue your growth beyond the course.
Week 3: Organization and Productivity
- Learn the process of becoming the CEO of your life by intentionally planning your days and weeks ahead of time.
- We will coach you on staying accountable to yourself and how to incrementally become a master of your time.
- Organize your life, home and mind through our proven coaching approaches.
Week 4: Decision Making
- Stop getting lost in indecision and have your own back after decisions have been made.
- This is your opportunity to create anything you want in your life through thoughtful decisions and intentionality.
Week 5: Career and Leadership Development Part 1
- The Art of Persuasion and Negotiation
- Asking for what you want with conviction, confidence and courage.
Week 6: Career and Leadership Development Part 2
- Navigate Career Advancement
- Learn the skills you need to advance to the next level in your career, including effective team management and conflict resolution.

Dr. Vanessa Calderón
Dr. Vanessa CalderoĢn, MD, MPP is a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician who has an active clinical practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a professional coach and resiliency expert and the Director of Vituity’s Wellness and Resilience Program.
She is a member of the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology and is a certified Compassion Fatigue Educator and Therapist. Dr. CalderoĢn is also a recognized Positive Neuroplasticity Trainer and the founder of ICAREMD, the Institute for Compassion, Awareness, Empathy and Resiliency in Medicine. She has spent over half a decade reconnecting healthcare providers to their original purpose in medicine through education and professional coaching.
Dr. CalderoĢn has an extensive background in successful physician leadership. She has been a Department Chief and Medical Director for over 8 years and is an alumnus of the Vituity Management Fellowship. She is a graduate of the UCLA School of Medicine and completed her emergency medicine residency at Albert Einstein Montefiore/Jacobi Medical Centers in New York City, where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. CalderoĢn holds a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government. She has avidly been involved in patient advocacy, student mentorship and healthcare policy

Dr. Ursula Lang
Dr. Ursula Lang, MD, PhD, is Board Certified in both Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology and has focused her career at the interface of science and medicine.
After finishing her clinical training at UCSF and Stanford, she pursued a combination of post-doctoral research training in melanoma biology and continued to build her clinical skills as a dermatopathologist in an academic setting.
She has seen first hand the stressors that academic careers can disproportionally have on women and minorities. She saw the transformation it had in her own life, and made it a part of her life mission to share this knowledge and tools with others.
Dr. Lang has been immersed in coaching for the last four years and has over 1,000 hours of training and experience. She is an integral part of the wellness committee within her department and a leader in the anti-racism efforts at an institutional level. She has mentored and coached numerous medical students, residents and fellows over the past fourteen years.
Dr. Lang has won numerous awards for her research and has over 25 peer- reviewed publications and review articles. She has found coaching around time management and perfectionism to be integral to the process of finding a fulfilling work-life balance.
